An investor in people
We invest in the very best vehicles, warehouses and IT, but our service is only as good as our people. Many can say this, but we think we've gone that bit further and thought through a programme of real, practical systems and actions that help our staff develop - and motivate all of the team to provide the service our customers require.
Snapshots of Coates
We first achieved the Investors in People standard in 1999. All sites were in the scheme soon after. Regular audits confirm our commitment to IIP. It provides the structure for all our people to develop.
Coates is part of the community and we recently planted 5,000 trees at our Aylesbury site. That should soak up enough CO2 for about 100,000 deliveries.
When Eric and Thea Wheatley, the founders of Deadfiles wished to sell their archive business, they looked for a firm that would maintain standards and provide a place for their staff to grow. Deadfiles now looks after 100,000 archive boxes, uses the most up-to-date tracking technology and is a fast growing part of the group.
The Scots at our Grangemouth depot beat teams from all parts of the Group (and England) on their way to the title of best 6-a-side team in Coates.
